Public Sector analyzes budgetary expenditure with Pentaho BI
The CSIC is the largest public research body in Spain, and it is under the Ministry of Science and Innovation. For its multidisciplinary nature, it covers all fields of knowledge, from basic research to the most advanced technological developments.
The budgetary information regarding the area of costs was consolidated with Pentaho Data Integration in order to allow better analysis.
Develop elements of analysis simpler for the user, and more complete visually. The proposed analytical solution combined ad hoc reports, OLAP cubes and a powerful application dashboards, with 6 different perspectives to manage all points of view informational.
Technical and functional architecture of the BI system was based on the production environment of the CSIC , with Liferay. The CAS server and security has been integrated the Pentaho BI suite.
It has been confirmed that by having all the historical expense information consolidated, since 2002, the user has higher capacity to detect trends in spending through dashboards, to generate ad-hoc reports to complement them and an exploration much more dynamic of all information, both historical and current, with a single multidimensional viewer.
Confidence in Stratebi and Open Source BI has been renewed with new projects for Economic and Scientific Activity.
